  • Because We Can.org

My friend Ryan sent me a link to this company’s web page today. I’m totally enthralled. They’re a design-build company out in CA and they do all this fantastic modular stuff out of sustainable materials. And their company name totally rocks, too. Behold:

First off, I love this table. Squirrelies! In my house! yes yes. It shall be mine!

And this neato LED coffee table that responds to motion with twinkly lights (you know, because they can):

Thirdly, check out this cool office environment they designed for a game company, made to look like a sunken ship a la 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

    Here’s a work space-

A view of the divider arches-

    A view of the office-

The game-testing space, complete with ginormous tentacle seating-

    The “salon” area-

Oh, and they have a bar, too!?-

    Edited for pure coincidence:

Today I heard back from Rampid, a game company up in Portsmouth. Funny, since i was just looking at those pictures up there and being all like, “Wah, i want to hang out and be a dork all day in a place like that, “

So, story goes I applied for a graphic design job there in March, when I was briefly considering a move closer to the ocean. Welp, suffice to say that plan changed, and  only now have they decided to get their act together and seriously pursue me. I’ve been e-bantering back and forth all day with the dude who’s their hiring manager (I say dude because the company is basically seven 20-something dorky guys in an office, sha-weet), and he said i’m at the top of his list. Basically, they want my mad skillz. Or my boobies, whichever- long as they pay me. But I can’t do it, because it’s too far away, dammit, and everyone is disappointed about that. But! Maybe i can telecommute! Or do contract work, which would be tres cool. I will have to use my most wilesome wiles.
