You can tell it's summer break because I've already read two books in 24 hours- the one above, and book #3 in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Did I mention I am an eclectic, as well as voracious reader?
The Myths of Inanna and the fifth Harry Potter book are up next.
And then, whatever else seems tasty. Maybe I should get a little
jobby-job in a bookstore, just to amuse myself........Don't be fooled, however- since waking up all hungover yesterday
morning, I have been doing my best to ward of the fiends of boredom,
and it hasn't been all literature. I looked in the bathroom mirror
around noonish and realized i have this terrible bruise across the
bridge of my nose, and I have no idea where it came from. My theory is
that it is a direct result of my drunken antics the other evening,
possibly when I was trying to drag some random girl's kitty out of some
shrubbery....... i have no idea. It's quite a shiner.Despite the fact that I look like a beat-up crackwhore, this did not
prevent me from taking myself out in public for lunchies at the local
indian joint. Bukhara is my favorite place on earth, all polished
copper trim and saffron cushions, white linen napkins.....divine curry.
For eight buckaroos you can have all the savory dishes you can devour
(voracious? did i mention that?), so i helped myself to some Murg Tikka Masala (chicken in a spicy cream sauce) with jasmine rice, Mulligatawny soup (a british colonial hybrid), Papadums (fried potatoes and peas wrapped in pastry), garlic naan (flatbread), and Kheer
(sweet rice pudding with slivered almonds and raisins). I think i
need to move to india, or else cut a deal with the little Indian men
who work there..I went home and puttered around with the portfolio website I've been
working on, took the whole thing to pieces in dreamweaver,
rehashed a few things, put it back together; so maybe by the end of
next week that will be up and running. Then we can have some show-and
tell around here, ya?
Kerri knocked on my door around 6 or so, and we went out to have
crepes with pears and brie, and chatted about what to do with our fine
selves this summer. Thinkin' about driving up to Montreal, I hear they
have an arts festival around our birthdays. Joyeux anniversaire! Nous
sommmes tres belle, oui oui! Le fromage! But in the meantime, I have to figure out what to do today. My beloved
hedgehog has the day off and is at the doctor's gettin poked and
prodded (I am a little worried about him) so I am left to my own
devices today. Last time I was this inoccupied, I was only a few days into summer vacay and I ended up with a random tattoo. Just about a year ago, actually......Possible distractions:
a.) Buy another book
b.) fix my printer, which has been unused for about a year and a half
c.) Tromp over to the Garment District and hunt for vintage stuff. Which I do not need.or get a tattoo. on the other arm. hehe.

gilgamesh rocks.
I say go out and get more books. but only because I'm a book whore and have this innate need to gather every damn book in sight.
Love Lemony Snickett. Love.
And go to Montreal, dude. That's my hometown and I'm here to tell you that it's a great and glorious place.
