  • Mosaic madness

    First, the obligatory art:

I call them “Little Magpie Mosaics”, since they’re less than 4 inches on a side, but that’s four inches of fabulous. Probably good for hanging in a nook or something like that. Super cute, eh? Want one? Then check out the ol’ Ets, yo.

I’m trying to decide whether to sell the ocean mosaic. You all seemed very excited about it, haha. I don’t know if i could bear to part with it, but maybe I’ll just stick it in the shop for a couple hundred bucks and see if someone is silly enough to bite, hahaha.

    I’m such an art whore ; )

hey! But some good news. I went for my jobby job interview at the gallery today, and they hired me on the spot. I was immensely flattered. Funny thing was, I wasn’t nervous about it beforehand or anything like that. I just went in and chatted up the owner, and we had a lovely conversation about art and jewelry design. So I start next week, and I met a bunch of my new coworkers already. I have a good feeling about this- aside from getting to hang out with beautiful objects and pretend I’m all super chic for three days a week (but not so much that i miss my jeans and my feet hurt all the time), it feels like I might really learn something useful there. I remember the first gallery they had in my grandmother’s town- it was one of my favorite places to visit when I was a kid. And now I’m working for them! A few of the salespeople even have their work on display in the gallery, which would be FAN-TASTIC for me. So I’m thinking this is some kinda kismet.

And then when I got home? I found out some of my jewelry and art papers had been sold. And my showcase feature isn’t even until tomorrow, so i’m hoping this bodes well! That totally made my day, because if i can keep all this up, I just might have time to make more art, teach a class, earn a little gallery experience, and pick up a couple new tricks. Oh, and pay my bills. that, too.

  • yay for your new job!  this is very exciting!

  • congratulations!!!

  • Congratulations!

  • The pink one is so gorgeously vaginal!  That’s a compliment, by the way   I’ve been going crazy with research ideas and I’m stuck between Language as Reality (too big a topic at the moment) and a new curiosity about the prevalence of Menses Poetry.  I’m so weird.
I saw your new 10 Etsy items and was proud to see that some of them sold before I even got there.  I love the earrings especially.  Well, I like all the art, but earrings are things I am most likely to buy for myself.
CONGRATULATIONS on the job.  You’re going to rock it!  I am looking forward to spring and maybe losing a few pounds so I can wear jeans and heels… I love that style.

  • yay job, sale and kismet! congrats on all!

those mosaics are just too cool, I think those will do very well :)

  • Everything sounds excellent! Congrats on the sales!!!

  • @BoureeMusique -

    bahaha, gratuitous crotch art!

Thanks guys. I can’t tell you how awesome it’s been to get all this great feedback from you!

  • Yay! I am planning to pack the box o’ rocks this weekend. I am also redoing my yard with the boulder portion of my “inheritance.” You’re so cool. Sigh. I wish I made stuff still. But I do have more supplies now than I know what to do with. Oh, wait, that was always true… Okay, stop yakking and go back to work. Bleh!

  • Everything happens in it’s own time and your Gallery job (position) is a sign that you are off and running. Talk about the right job! 3 days a week…SWEET… Won’t be long and you will be showing your own work and get rich and famous. lol. I am serious tho. I got your message and will send that off asap. I am excited!

  • I absolutley LOVE the Tealish-Green one…its beautiful.

  • Thanks for the credits.  I’m just trying to get 100,000 so I don’t have to pay for Xanga Premium.  It’s silly… another one of those really arbitrary thing from which I can glean meaning along the way
I’m a bigger coffee fan all the time, though I’m trying to keep it steady.  I don’t drink hot coffee in the morning, but I’ll get iced coffee if it’s the middle of the day and I’m tired.  I’ll drink hot coffee in the morning if I’m at a diner or breakfasty place with friends or my dad.  It is happiness.

  • Congrats on the job! And the mosaics are absolutely lovely.
