  • Divas/ Deities/ Hoochies

Latest art-thang i made. It’s pretty rad as is, and each portrait looks good on its own. These are actually for an upcoming jewelry project; I have this spiffy shrink plastic (who remembers shrinky dinks??) that these are going to be printed on, and then turned into individual pendants.

Other than that, i’ve just been hoarding beads. Hoarding beads and making awesome stuff out of them. And working on the website to put the awesome stuff up for sale. Soon, my pretties, soon.

  • Those are cool
I never saw a shrinky dink. I feel like I missed something important… lol Seems like something I would like to play with

  • Shrinky dinks were sheets of thin plastic which usually had cartoon or comic characters printed on them. You’d color them in, cut out the shape, and put them in the oven on a cookie sheet for a couple minutes. The plastic would shrink about 50% of its original size and get thicker, so you could make a keychain or a charm or a little figurine out of it.

It’s totally awesome for art stuff, because you can get the plain sheets and draw a design on it, and turn it into a pendant. I’m all about the wearable art : ) Maybe I’ll do a tutorial in another post.

  • I loved shrinky dinks!

I like the upper and middle left ones – the top one for the owl guy (ok, so I’m a sucker for animals), and the next one because it reminds me of yoga

  • I miss Shrinky Dinks!

    These look wonderful.

  • I remember shrinky dinks. I never actually made any but I remember friends having them.

The one with sunglasses is so close to my look-alike! How cool is that! Though instead of a star I’m wearing a dragon (Chinese character) necklace.

  • I remember shrinky dinks. Now I feel about 100 years old lol.

  • You and me, Fleen, you and me. All these whippersnappers, calling 80′s stuff “retro”. Jeebus. Get off my lawn, you damn kids!

The sunglasses girl is actually my favorite. She pretty much looks like every little hipster chick in my city, down to the indulgent smirk. ; )
