Today my major task at work was a photography project for The Home for Little Wanderers Online Auction,
namely a round of photos of an acoustic guitar signed by Sweet Baby
James. It's going up for sale on Monday, for the benefit of the little
kiddoes. I couldn't get into the swing of things for a while, and all
my pics were blah or washed out or glare-y or just more blah. So
eventually I gave into temptation, and brought the lovely thing to the
break room & sat for 30 minutes tuning the strings and strumming a
bit. We bonded, that guitar and I. The sound of it is full and round
and resonant and delicious, and it's signed by James so what's not to
love? I am not any sort of decent musician by far (judging from the
puzzled looks my coworkers were giving me, ha), but I'm not a half bad
photographer once i've got a vibe going, it seems.
