  • "What do you have to do?

    Pack your bags,

Go to the station without them,

    Catch the train,

    And leave your self behind."

  • One Good Turn Deserves Another

Courtesy of my creative beau, Matthew:

    And my own silly retort:

  • The Bus Stop

    THE HOLLIES
    Bus Stop

Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
    Please share my umbrella
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
    Under my umbrella

All that summer we enjoyed it
    Wind and rain and shine
    That umbrella, we employed it
    By August, she was mine

Every morning I would see her waiting at the stop
Sometimes she'd shopped and she would show me what she bought
Other people stared as if we were both quite insane
Someday my name and hers are going to be the same

That's the way the whole thing started
    Silly but it's true
    Thinkin' of a sweet romance
    Beginning in a queue

Came the sun the ice was melting
    No more sheltering now
Nice to think that that umbrella
    Led me to a vow

Every morning I would see her waiting at the stop
Sometimes she'd shopped and she would show me what she bought
Other people stared as if we were both quite insane
Someday my name and hers are going to be the same

Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
    Please share my umbrella
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
    Under my umbrella

All that summer we enjoyed it
    Wind and rain and shine
    That umbrella, we employed it
    By August, she was mine

    "At New York's
Kennedy airport today, an individual later discovered to
    be a public school
teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while
    in possession of a ruler,
a protractor, a setsquare, a slide rule, and
    a calculator.
      At a
morning press conference, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said
    he believes
the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement. He
    is being charged
by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.
      'Al-gebra is a
fearsome cult,' Gonzales said. They desire average
    solutions by means and
extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a
    search of absolute value.
They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y'
    and refer to themselves as
unknowns, but we have determined they belong
to a common denominator of the
axis of medieval with coordinates in
every country. As the Greek philanderer
    Isosceles used to say, 'There
    are 3 sides to every
    triangle.'"

Blame my silly uncle for this one. Now I remember why I hated math class.

  • The Result of Being:

"A wonderful painting is the result of the feeling in your fingers. If you have
the feeling of the thickness of the ink in your brush, the painting is already
there before you paint. When you dip your brush into the ink you already know
the result of your drawing, or else you cannot paint. So before you do
something, "being" is there, the result is there. Even though you look as if
you were sitting quietly, all your activity, past and present, is included, and
the result of your sitting is also already there."
