It's sad. I've known people in similar situations, and it's like, once someone has been locked up for dealing or larceny or whatever, it doesn't much matter how pretty he makes you feel. Alas. Low self-esteem makes the world go round.
I think it should be looked at as more of a metaphor.... like she said, a sabbatical or something. I'm over 2000 miles away from the one I love... to "find myself"...and I feel like I might as well be locked up. Nothing makes me happy. I go and try to be social and come home more depressed than I was when I left.
I honestly thought you were posting that to be funny, so to be clear, my snark is directed at the people I've known who were in that situation.
I'm really sorry. I don't know the details and they aren't my business, but you still have each other and that's the important part. Being away fromeach other for however long is tough, but not impossible.
